What was your favorite hobby or extracurricular activity as a child, and did you pursue it further later in life?

Reading, art, and playing piano & yes!

What was your favorite meal or dish that your family would make, and do you still enjoy it today?

My mom makes the best pozole, then and now haha.

What was your favorite thing about being a child, and do you try to hold onto that spirit as an adult?

Spending endless hours outside playing with friends & family

What was the most challenging experience you faced as a child, and how did you overcome it?

I grew up undocumented and I didn’t always know what my future would look like. I wasn’t sure how I’d go to college or pursue my dreams but with faith, the right people in my life, and with DACA I have been able to pursue a future for myself & my family. I overcame the fear of the future and continue to hope and have faith in a better future for myself, my family & my community.

What was the most valuable lesson you learned as a child, and how has it influenced your life today?

I grew up in a Christian household and still continue to practice my faith, and I think the most valuable lesson I learned was holding on to faith even when life is difficult.

What advice would you give to your younger self, based on what you've learned throughout your life so far?

To always remember what’s most important and not get caught up trying to overachieve or seek validation through work/success.
